Maybe This Marijuana Study Will Get Those Old Alkie Farts To Change Their Minds

Study shows cannabis could help Alzheimer's----------Fox News"New clues about Alzheimer's disease have emerged from a Spanish study of marijuana. The drug's active ingredients -- cannabinoids --help prevent brain problems seen in Alzheimer's, say the scientists.... Alzheimer's disease is the most common form of mental decline, or dementia, in older adults. The new study didn't test cannabinoids on people living with Alzheimer's disease. Instead, the researchers focused on human brain tissue samples and conducted cannabinoid experiments on rats. The findings showed that 'cannabinoids work bothto prevent inflammation and to protect the brain [which] may set the stage for [their] use as a therapeutic approach for [Alzheimer'sdisease].' A staff member at Madrid?s Cajal Institute, de Ceballos conducted the study with colleagues from nearby ComplutenseUniversity. Their results appear in the Feb. 23 edition of The Journal of Neuroscience." (02/24/05)http://www.foxnews.com/story/0,2933,148518,00.html

Illinois court: Man can sue over surprise pregnancy----------San Francisco Chronicle"An appeals court said a man can press a claim for emotional distress after learning a former lover had used his sperm to have a baby. But he can't claim theft, the ruling said, because the sperm were hers to keep. The ruling ... sends Dr. Richard O. Phillips' distress caseback to trial court. Phillips accuses Dr. Sharon Irons of a'calculated, profound personal betrayal' after their affair six years ago, saying she secretly kept semen after they had oral sex, then used it to get pregnant. He said he didn't find out about the child for nearly two years, when Irons filed a paternity lawsuit. DNA tests confirmed Phillips was the father. Phillips was ordered to pay about$800 a month in child support, said Irons' attorney, EnricoMirabelli. Phillips sued Irons, claiming he has had trouble sleeping and eating and has been haunted by 'feelings of being trapped in a nightmare,' court papers state." (02/24/05)http://tinyurl.com/5j3mz

The Movie Rwanda Hotel

My daughter asked me after the movie what I thought of it. I told her that it showed me what happens when people are not armed. Of course she didn't understand what I told her. But there is no doubt that there wouldn't have been any massacres, if the people had been armed.
